I'm Mary Anne Blake, founder and principal consultant of MAB Strategy Consulting, a one-person firm in the Seattle area. I've spent more than 20 years leading programs and operations at Microsoft, GitHub, Expedia, the Gates Foundation, and Impinj. Now I bring that experience to organizations whose project has stalled, whose processes are buckling under growth, or whose business and technical teams can't agree on where to start.

Where I've worked
I've spent more than 20 years leading programs and operations at Microsoft, GitHub, Expedia, the Gates Foundation, and Impinj.
At Microsoft, I led global support operations for Office 365 accounts and billing across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM, managing vendor budgets, forecasting staffing, and using support data to shape refund and cancellation policies. At the Gates Foundation, I transformed the annual financial planning and strategy review process, through optimizing business processes and delivering a technology solution for portfolio management and digital briefings. At Impinj, I led security remediation programs that brought IT, product engineering, and the wider company together after penetration testing.
Recent engagement: Designed a year-long customer research program for a global technology company, exploring how customers apply agentic AI to business workflows. Defined scope, methodology, communication plan, and schedule, then transitioned the program to the execution team.
